I would like to challenge you in this writing to day by saying we can “Praise God in the Storm”; no matter what our storm may be. We may feel like a David up against Goliath; the Hebrew boys in the fiery furnace; Daniel in the lions den; Joseph in the pit; or even Jonah in the belly of the fish, but I encourage you to know that regardless of our storm, we have a God that’s bigger than any storm and wider than any sea. What is praise? Praise is a vehicle of faith which brings us into the presence and power of almighty God. Praise causes us to enter the sacredness of His glory. Psalm 100:4 says “Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise. When we praise God in the midst of the storm, it builds us up and relieves us to not focus so much on the storm, but focus on the one (Jesus) who can calm a storm. God said he would never leave us nor forsake us, and with Him all things are possible. It will seem as though we cant make it through the storms of life; however, when we depend on the strength of the Lord, we will survive any storm. We must look to the hills from whence cometh our help, for our help cometh from the Lord who made Heaven and earth. When we put our trust in God and give our lives completely to Him, it gives assurance that He is with us even in the storm. The people I mentioned above from the bible had no doubt that God would bring them out. They trusted the Lord and believed that he was the great King and rescuer. They vowed that even if they were not rescued, yet they would still give Him praise. During our storms, we can take that storm and learn much about ourselves as well as others. We can commission ourselves to realize that this may have been sent to bring us down but Jesus is here to bring us up. We are to declare His name, and commend, applaud and magnify our Father in heaven during the stormy times of life.
I would like to remind you all of one thing about praise; if you are not serving God as you should, your praise will be as a noise unknown. We as Christians can’t expect to praise God and live our lives any kind of way. We must be lined up with God’s word and be faithful unto Him so that he can do what he has promised. His promises become real in our lives when we live a sacrificial life unto to him. We can praise Him all day but we better be lined up according to how his Word has directed us in order to have a smooth ride in the storm. God wants us to come to him in a humble and true spirit. True praise will come through a heart that is centered on the Lord. Praise transports us into the realm of the supernatural and into the power of God. Psalm 89:15 says “Blessed is the people that know the joyful sound: they shall walk, O Lord, in the light of thy countenance. Praising God in the storm comes in many actions, whether it be verbal expressions of adoration and thanksgiving, singing, playing instruments, shouting, dancing, lifting or clapping our hands. Unpretentious praise and worship pleases the Lord. God delights in the love and devotion of His children. Now praising begins at the house of God. If you are a true believer; I mean a true Christian, you have the genuine praise that our God seeks to receive. God dwells amongst the true people of praise. He walks around with his glory prevailing and his presence reigning. Psalm 34:1 says “I will bless the Lord at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth. We can praise him during our storm at work, in the car, at home in bed, or anywhere, as long as our praise is true to our Father. Praising God in our storms repels the enemy; yes I say it repels the enemy. Lift your voice with triumph and watch the devil flee in even the midst of the storm. When God’s people being to praise His name, it sends the enemy running! Yes; Hallelujah; Thank You Jesus. It release the power of God over our storm. I challenge you as Christians and to those that are seeking to have more of Jesus but have not submitted your life, begin with a Praise in your mouth and it will eventually move to your heart. Praising God in the Storm brings about a mighty glory of God and a mighty presence of peace. I dare you to praise my God in the midst of storm.
